JUST IN: Man United Reach Verbal Agreement With Erik Ten Hag To Become Next Permanent Manager.

Manchester United have reached verbal agreement in principle with Erik Ten Hag to become next permanent manager. 

According to the recent reports via the Athletic, It is believed to be a verbal agreement, and he is expected to join on a four-year contract.

Ajax are aware of the situation and still need to finalise details and documentation with United. There will be no written agreement or announcement until after Ajax face PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Cup final on April 17.

The Dutch outfit, are also still seeking to be champions of the Eredivisie.

The 52-year old has done well at Ajax but, with the end of the campaign gradually getting closer, he is now looking ahead to a new challenge. And the Red Devils’ star-studded squad is the perfect welcome gift for the Dutchman, despite their issues this term.

Ten Hag is now described as ‘satisfied’ by Man United plan to make important decisions together with him. That’s why he wanted a long-term contract.

His buyout clause (€2m) payment and coaching staff will also be finalised in due course.

He would finally replace former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the hot seat ahead of next season. Interim manager Ralf Rangnick has since presided over first-team affairs since December and will move into a two-year consultancy role at the end of the season.

Having beaten Mauricio Pochettino in the race for the Old Trafford job, Ten Hag will become the Red Devils' fifth permanent manager in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, following David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Solskjaer, all of whom failed to bring back the glory days to the Theatre of Dreams.

Having previously worked as second-team boss at Bayern Munich when Pep Guardiola was in charge, Ten Hag has gone ahead to b impressive with Ajax since taking charge in 2017 

He guided Ajax to the semi-finals of the Champions League in May 2019, where they lost against Spurs courtesy of a dramatic Lucas Moura's hattrick.
