Gabriel Jesus Reacts To Speculations Linking Him Away From The Etihad Stadium.

Gabriel Jesus, who has been linked with a move away from Manchester City, has stated that it is not the proper moment to discuss his future with the club, despite reports that the Brazil international might leave at the end of the season.

According to reports in the British media, City are favourites to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, limiting Jesus' playing time even more with the 25-year-old contract set to expires in June 2023.

"It's not the time to think about this," Jesus responded when asked if he would stay with the current Premier League champions and battle for his spot if another forward arrived. 

"You probably don't expect me to say it, but it's true.

"This is the best time of the year. I want to have fun, stay focused on my club, and strive for the Premier League with my teammates."

Jesus scored four goals in City's 5-1 thumping of Watford at the weekend as the Cityzens extends their stay at the top of the table.

He stated his main ambition now is to assist his team win the Premier League . 

"I've won it three times with my teammates, and I know how it feels," he said.

"I want to have that feeling again." 

"Of course, we have a challenging game against Real Madrid (in the Champions League) on Tuesday, and that is my focus." 

City leads Liverpool by one point with five games remaining after the Reds defeated Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday evening.

Under Pep Guardiola, Jesus has been played out of position on the right side of City's attack in recent seasons, rather than as center forward despite the departure of Sergio Aguero to Barcelona last summer.

According to reports over the weekend,  Arsenal are looking to press ahead with their bid to sign Man City star Gabriel Jesus, making him their top target as the North London side seek out a new number nine to lead them next season.

He is set to replace Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang who departed the Emirates Stadium for free in January to join Spanish giants Barca.

Juventus and Barcelona and other top clubs are also closely monitoring the situation at the Etihad Stadium.

Jesus joined City for £27million from Palmeiras in 2017, and has made 230 appearances and scored 93 goals for the sky blue team.

When asked about the speculation of Jesus to Arsenal, Pep Guardiola said: “I want to tell you something; Gabriel is our player. I don’t know what is going to happen, but he is a Man City player.

“When he has days like today, I am the happiest man in the world! Every player is happy when they play 90 minutes all the time but at the end of the season whether he wants to extend, stay or leave, I don’t know and I don’t care.

“We have less than one month. My only concern is that the players will do everything to try and win, after that no one knows what will happen.”
