Davido Features On The 2022 FIFA World Cup Soundtrack (Theme Song) ‘Better Together’.

• Davido has just been featured on the FIFA official theme song for 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

• He becomes the first Nigerian artiste, and first Afrobeat artist to be featured on FIFA World Cup official sound track.

The Nigerian award-winning singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido announced the development on his social media handle on Friday morning, saying the official soundtrack is titled ‘Hayya Hayya’ (Better Together).

On his Twitter page, Davido wrote: “I’m honoured to be featured on the Official ⁦@FIFAWorldCup⁩ 2022 Soundtrack!

“Who dey wamba, we still qualify las las.

“See you all later tonight, This one is for Africa! TULE! WE RISE!”

Despite the Super Eagles failing to make it to the World Cup after losing spot to Ghana in the qualifying play-off on Tuesday, Nigeria will not be totally missed, as they would still be heard at the Mundail, thanks to Davido.

The 29-year-old singer will perform alongside American R&B star Trinidad Cardona and, American J-R&B singer Quantari sensation Aisha ahead of tonight’s final draw for the tournament.

Davido has always been a fan of football Nigerian singer, Davido has never hidden his love for the game of football as everyone knows he is a "die-hard" Manchester United fan. 

FIFA also confirmed the choice of Davido and others on its official page, saying that their choice is to “connect with audiences worldwide through the shared passions of football and music.”

“The entertainment strategy was conceived to create innovative and meaningful connections between football fans, music enthusiasts, players, artists, and the game and songs they all love.

“The combination of breakthrough US star Trinidad Cardona, Afrobeats icon Davido and Qatari sensation Aisha captures the spirit of the FIFA World Cup™ and the FIFA Sound strategy by bringing together inspiration from across the globe.”

The world biggest sporting event is set to begin Monday, 21 November to Sunday, 18 December later this year.

The draws for the tournament, is set to take place today at 19:00 local time in Doha Qatar, (5pm Nigerian time), as the group stage for the 32 nations is announced.
