Arsenal Interested In Signing Eden Hazard From Real Madrid.

Arsenal are eyeing a sensational summer swoop for Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard on a loan deal with an option to buy.

The former Lille and Chelsea star had previously lit up the Premier League scoring 85 league goals in 245 games, and a total 110 goals in 352 appearances across all competitions during his 7 years stay for the Blues.

Hazard made a move to join the Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2019 for a reported fee of €100 million plus add ons, and since that transfer happened, things have not gone to plan for the exciting winger.

The Belgian forward has started only 40 games since moving to the Spanish capital, and has scored just six times for Real Madrid, failing to find that his spectacular Chelsea form when fit and available.

Injuries have hampered his progress in the side, turning a dream move into a nightmare. 

His employers would certainly be very open to cutting their losses as they currently pay out a significant amount of money for his wages, he reportedly earns £400,000 per week.

It would be beneficial for Real to offload him in the summer. Aware that his market price has dropped despite having 2-years left in his contract, their plan is to send him somewhere on loan where he can regain some value.

Former rivals Arsenal could be set to offer Hazard an escape route.

According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal have already made contact about a potential deal and it seems their interest is serious. 

After initiating the first contacts last month, Arsenal held a recent meeting with his representatives this week, the Gunners are looking to bring the former Chelsea superstar back to the Premier League on a potential loan deal.

Bear in mind that the North London club have already done business with Madrid in recent years for the likes of Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard.

Arsenal's boss Mikel Arteta is keen on bringing the 31-year-old to the Emirates having greatly improved his team that suddenly now look like they are a top-four side contender again.

They hope to boost their squad this summer with top-level new arrivals, and with Champions League football in sight, a competition the club hasn't featured in since 2017.

Signing Hazard seems like something of a calculated risk for the time being considering his age, but would definitely add attacking flair to the Gunners team if he can rediscover his form and fitness.

The fact he used to represent their rivals Chelsea would give it an extra edge.
