Cristiano Ronaldo Hits 400 Million Instagram Followers Just After His 37th Birthday
Cristiano Ronaldo has hit 400 million followers on the photo-sharing platform (Instagram), just a day after his 37th birthday.
Ronaldo has produced some staggering numbers over the course of his career, but the Manchester United forward has hit a big one this week, becoming the first individual to reach the 400 million followers mark.
He would continue to sit comfortably on his throne as the most-followed person on the whole of Instagram, and it's not even close.
Ronaldo has 3242 posts with an average of 10 million ‘likes’ each one and just 500 follows.
With almost 308 million followers, reality sensation Kylie Jenner is second in the standings, followed by Lionel Messi with 306 million.
The Portugal captain, has won five Ballon d'Or awards, scored a total of 800+ career goals, 115 goals for his country making him the highest scoring player in Men's international football, but none of the figures he has racked up on the pitch come close to his deep run into nine figures on his most-followed social media account.
The 37-year-old's total continues to grow, having taken to social media to celebrate his 37th birthday which is his most recent post.
Along with the photo was a message that said, "Life is a roller coaster. Hard work, high speed, urgent goals, demanding expectations… But in the end, it all comes down to family, love, honesty, friendship, values that make it all worth it. Thanks for all the messages! 37 and counting!"
Ronaldo had blew the chance to give United an early lead when he surprisingly missed from a penalty to extend his goalless run to four games.
The ex-Real Madrid, Juventus man and his team-mates were held to a 1-1 draw by the Championship side, and he scored later in the shoot-out, which was not enough, as Boro went on to stun the Red Devils by winning 8-7 on penalties.
Despite that disappointment, the superstar still managed to raise a smile in a cute photo alongside partner Georgina Rodriguez for his birthday bash.
Nobody does Instagram quite like Ronaldo. If he's not reminding us of his many, many, many career achievements or making high-concept endorsements for his many, many, many commercial partners then he is sharing pictures of his life with partner Georgina Rodriguez and his family or just hanging out with his shirt off.
The forward had 237 million followers in September 2021, making him the most followed guy on the platform, a quantity that has since increased enormously in a couple of months.
Piers Morgan, a well-known broadcaster, posted a photo of himself with the Manchester United striker on Twitter.
He said: ‘Congratulations on becoming the first human being ever to reach 400 million followers on Instagram. The undisputed social media goat, p.s he only follows 500 people, including me… he knows a good grammer when he sees one.’
