Cameroon Goalkeeper Andre Onana Undergoing Medical In Milan Today Ahead Of A Free Transfer From Ajax.

Cameroon shotstopper Andre Onana is reportedly undergoing a medical today in Milan ahead of a free transfer from Ajax.

Onana who is currently on international duty with the Indomitable Lions for the upcoming 2021 AFCON, boarded a flight from Yaounde, Cameroon last night and touched down Italy this morning to complete a summer move to Inter Milan.

Onana is set to commit to terms with the Serie A reigning champions, and expected to sign a five-year contract which will eventually begin in July.

Inter Milan are looking for a replacement for 37-year-old goalkeeper Samir Handanovic whose contract with the side is set to expire in June - and one of Europe's best keepers - Andre Onana seems to be the perfect replacement.

Despite the 25-year-old keeper playing just once since returning from a nine-month drugs ban in November, Onana was a vital part of the Ajax side that reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2019, and has made 205 appearances for the team, winning two Eredivisie titles and a KNVP Cup.

He'll complete the remainder of season with Ajax after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, before making the move to Inter this summer.

His national team Cameroon prepares to host the 33rd edition of the AFCON tournament in five-days time, as they look to win the title for the 6th time, having won it last in Gabon 2017.

They crashed out of the tournament as defending champions in the round-of-16 stage in July 2019, after losing 3-2 to three-time champions Nigeria.
