Zinedine Zidane And Brendan Rodgers Emerging Top Favorites To Succeed Solskjaer As Man United Manager.

Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to persuade Zinedine Zidane to takeover from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager of the club.

Solskjaer's job as Man United manager is currently hanging by a thread, as rumours around a potential new candidate to replace him continues to arise.

The Glazer family's discontent with Solskjær's performances as a manager has been growing after recent devastating defeats at home to Liverpool and Man City, which sees United likely falling out of the title race in November.

United have now lost six in 12 games across all competitions under the Norwegian who flew back to Norway earlier this week despite the clubs poor performance.

Zinedine Zidane a top favorite for managerial hot-seat at Old Trafford  is currently a free agent having stepped down as Real Madrid manager for a second time at the end of last season winning three Champions Leagues, and two LaLiga titles  during his two spells with the Los Blancos.

The Frenchman is not convinced whether the Man United job would be the right one for him to take at this point, as he is also open to interest from Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team.

According to the Sunday Times, United’s hierarchy are hopeful that Zidane's close relationships with their key summer signings Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphaël Varane can help to convince him to become the next United manager.

Zidane coached both Ronaldo and Varane during his time at Real Madrid.

Meanwhile CloudNine Sports understands that Leicester City' s boss Brendan Rodgers is another favorite for the Man United job amid Solskjaer's pressure.

Sources claim that the Northern Irishman is house hunting in the Manchester area.

The former Liverpool and Celtic manager, has a clause in his Leicester contract allowing him to leave should a Champions League side come calling.

Solskjaer's position remains safe for now and is expected to be in charge of the trip to Watford next week.
