Hayet Abidal Seeks To Divorce Her Husband Over Hamraoui’s Case.

Eric Abidal's wife, Hayet, has announced on that Friday, that she wants to divorce her husband, Eric Abidal after he was forced to admit an extra-marital affair with Kheira Hamraoui during the investigation into the PSG player's assault. 

The investigators try to learn who was behind a mysterious attack against Hamraoui earlier this month when her legs were beaten after she was dragged out of a car with her fellow teammate Aminata Diallo on November 4 this year.

Diallo, who was not injured in the attack, was held for questioning for more than 24 hours last week before being released without charge.

It was learnt that Hamaraoui's phone was registered in the name of the former France international defender, making Abidal a person of interest in the investigation into the attack, which is currently being led by the Versailles court.

According to reports from French media outlet RMC Sport, Hayet claimed that her husband had admitted “to an adulterous relationship with Ms Hamraoui” with the full details covered by French media outlet RMC Sport.

Hayet has instructed her lawyer to commence divorce proceedings against her husband.

Hayet Abidal’s legal representative added that “she has nothing to do with the events”, and that she would not comment on the case and wished to be interviewed “as quickly as possible by investigators or the prosecutor in charge of the case”.

Meanwhile Eric Abidal’s lawyer, Olivier Martin, has also confirmed that his client will not be making any statement at this time consigning the divorce.

The former Algerian gymnast "Hayet Kebir" have known Abidal from their native Lyon in southeast France, got married to him in 2003 and the couple have five children together.

As part of a Judicial investigation, Eric Abidal, and  wife Hayet are both set to be questioned in relation to the brutal attack on Hamraoui.

Hamraoui was left out of the squad in PSG’s 2-0 victory over Real Madrid on Thursday, which saw them clinch their place in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League.

She had joined the Barcelona femení team in 2018, the same year when Eric Abidal returned to the club and was made the sporting director.

Eric Abidal enjoyed a successful playing career which totalled 513 appearances between 2001 and 2015 with Monaco, Lille, Lyon, Barcelona and the French national side.

He won a total of 20 trophies across his career with his six-season stint at the Camp Nou the most memorable – winning four La Liga titles with the Catalan giants alongside the Champions League trophy in 2009 and 2011.
