Bayern Munich Are Keen To Offer Antonio Rudiger Double Of His Wages To Leave Chelsea.

Chelsea's hopes of retaining Antonio Rüdiger have further been depleted after Bayern Munich indicates interest in the centre-back.

The German defender is currently in the final year of his contract at Chelsea which is set to expire in June, and yet to agree a new contract extension.

Bayern Munich are willing to pay Antonio Rüdiger double of his current salary that is (€12m/year) to bring him to Munich.

According to German Newspaper BILD, Bayern have already contacted Rudiger’s agent to begin negotiations on a pre-contract agreement which will see him become the eighth best-paid player in the Bundesliga.

Rudiger would be open to receive offers from foreign clubs when the transfer window opens in January 2022.

The 28-year-old defender joined the West London side from Roma in 2017 for a reported fee of £29 million, signing a five-year deal in the process.

He has so far made 164 appearances across all competitions, scored eight goals, and won 4 trophies with the Blues ( 1 FA Cup, 1 Champions League, 1 Europa League, and 1 Super Cup).

Nevertheless Rüdiger's priority is to still stay in London where he feels at home, He wants €12m a year, but has so far only been offered €8.5m contract by Chelsea, an offer that he sees as 'a slap in the face.

He currently earns around £100,000 per week at Chelsea - that is (€6m/year).

Other defenders like Cesar Azpilicueta and Ben Chilwell earn more than him on £150,000 and £190,000-per-week respectively.

Rüdiger has been very instrumental in the present Chelsea squad under Thomas Tuchel, and played a vital role in their Champions League triumph last season.

Bayern are keen and can easily double those demands to move the defender to Bavaria.

The lack of progress in new contract talks has led to speculations of him joining not just only Bayern Munich, but Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation.
