Aminata Diallo Released From Police Custody Without Charge As She Pleads Innocence.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Aminata Diallo has been released by police without charges after being arrested on Wednesday for allegedly planning a serious assault suffered by her teammate Kheira Hamraoui.

The 26-year-old midfielder was driving Hamraoui '31' and another unnamed team-mate home after a team meal in Paris last Thursday November 4, after two masked men allegedly ambushed and dragged both of them out of the car but only beat Kheira on her legs with iron bars for 2 minutes, requiring medical attention.

Kheira was taken to the hospital, while Diallo was arrested on Wednesday after PSG's duel with Real Madrid in the Champions League.  

There was speculations that Aminata Diallo sees Kheira Hamraoui as a rival as they are both play in the same position for club side and National team.

Diallo who has seven caps for France, joined PSG in 2016, and has made more than 60 appearances for the club. She spent time on loan at Atletico Madrid last season.

French publication L'Equipe reports that, both women have strong temperaments and were even involved in cases of indiscipline in the past.

Diallo and one other person, an unnamed 34-year-old man were detained and questioned in connection with the attack and have both been released by the police.

The French police continue to investigate the violent attack on teammate and for Barcelona midfielder Kheira Hamraoui.

"The club continues to support its players to allow them to overcome this ordeal as soon as possible," reads PSG's statement.

"Paris Saint-Germain reiterates its confidence in the justice system to shed full light on the events.

"The club would like to thank everyone for showing restraint and respecting the presumption of innocence as well as the privacy of the team."

PSG’s request for Sunday’s league game away to Lyon to be postponed was turned down by the French Football Federation (FFF).

According to reports in France, PSG will appeal against the decision not to postpone the meeting scheduled for Sunday against Lyon.
