Jose Mourinho Cruise To An Iconic Celebration Following A Win In His 1000th Game As A Manager.

Jose Mourinho celebrated his 1000th game as a professional football manager in style.

The AS Roma boss, continues to steal the show in Italy as he cruised to an iconic celebration by running around the stadium, after his team the secured a late dramatic 2-1 win over Sassuolo in the Serie A last night.

Mourinho was caught on camera sprinting down the touchline to celebrate with the players.

Roma side had to wait until stoppage time (92nd mins) before Stephan El Shaarawy bagged a beauty to secure the three points for the table toppers.

The two times Champions League winner, has now won his first three league games with Roma and his fifth win in five games since his appointment as manager.

This is the first time in his career he has won the first five games at a club.

Indeed, it was a fitting way for the ‘Special One’ to wrap up this huge milestone in his blistering career. 

The Portuguese manager is one of the most decorated figures in football since beginning his career way back with Benfica in September 2000, going on to manage other top European sides like Uniâo de Leira, Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Man United, Tottenham, and now Roma.

He has now taken his managerial career tally to 638 wins, 205 draws, 178 losses, and won 25 trophies.

After the match, the joyous Mourinho went on to explian what being in charge of his 1000th game as a manager meant to him: 

"I was lying; winning game No1000 meant so much!

“Because during the week I was lying to people, telling everyone this wasn't a special game – perhaps I was trying to convince myself as well. But actually it was – this game had a really special meaning for me. And I am sure I will remember it for the rest of my life, because my 1000th game as a coach was this one.

"I didn't want to lose it, and I was very scared of having that be my lasting memory of the moment. So I was lying to everyone beforehand. It was an very special feeling.

“The game today could have finished 6-6 or 7-7, they could have won 2-1, whatever. In the final few minutes Rui Patricio made two or three incredible saves and we missed two or three chances when the goal was gaping. It was an incredible game for the neutral, an absolutely extraordinary match, with so many emotions to it.... Mourinho added.

“Today I wasn't 58 years old, but 10 or 12 or 14, when you start dreaming about a career in football. Running like I did [down the sideline], I was running like a child. And I apologised to [Sassuolo coach Alessio] Dionisi f upor that. I congratulated him and his players: they played brilliantly. Tonight we won, but if they had won I would not have been able to have any complaints."

"Obviously I'm happy with the three points, and the great spirit we showed. But we cannot ignore Dionisi and how he must feel: He's a great coach, Sassuolo have a real identity about them – one that comes from De Zerbi, but he has applied his own elements to that. They are a great squad; I realised that as soon as I started studying them.

"These are three massive points for us. Perhaps God decided that I didn't deserve to have a negative memory of this particular game."

Early signs with Roma suggest that Mourinho could flourish for the Italian club, he is even the Bookies favorite to win the Scudetto following his flying start to the season.

The signing of Tammy Abraham appears to have been a shrewd one, with the former Chelsea man being one of Roma’s key players in their opening three games.
