AC Milan Completes The Signing Of Olivier Giroud From Chelsea.
Olivier Giroud has completed a permanent transfer to AC Milan from Chelsea.
The French striker who scored 39 goals in 119 appearances for the Blues, winning the Champions League, yEuropa League and FA Cup – has signed a two year deal with the Italian giants worth £1million.
Giroud will be handed the No 9 jersey in Italy, and will also receive an extra £1m in bonuses subject to a number of appearances and the club’s qualification for the Champions League.
The fee for Giroud is understood to be around €1m (£855,000), with an extra €1m (£855,000) in bonuses subject to a number of appearances and qualification for the Champions League.
On signing for AC Milan, who will play in the Champions League in the upcoming season after a seven-year absence, Giroud said: “My ambition is to win some trophies.
“That’s why I am playing football. I am a competitor and I want to win again and again.”
The France international joined Chelsea from Arsenal for £18m in January 2018, won the FA Cup, Europa League and most recently the Champions League last season during his spell with the Blues.
He was also a member of the French Euro 2020 – who suffered an early exit at the hands of Switzerland during a penalty shootout.
However, the striker did win the 2018 World Cup with the French national side in Russia.
Now Giroud will look to excel in the Italian top-flight and help AC Milan secure a place in the Champions League following a seven-year absence.
