RECORD!.. Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes The First Individual To Reach 300 MILLION Instagram Followers.

Madeira-born superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, has become the first person in the world to ever to reach 300 MILLION followers on the popular photo-sharing media known as Instagram.

The Juventus forward who is highly regarded as one of the greatest football player of all times, is now also the undisputed KING of Instagram as well.

Only one account on the social media platform has more followers than Ronaldo's and that's Instagram itself with 397 million.

This great accomplishment comes just after the Portugal captain Ronaldo became the first player to reach double figures (11), and overtaked France's Michel Platini (9) as the all-time leading European Championship goal-scorers.

Ronaldo who is appearing in his fifth Euros, scored twice in Portugal's UEFA Euro 2020 opener on Tuesday as they defeated Hungary 3-0.

He also took his tally of international goals for Portugal to 106, trailing only Iran's Ali Daei 109 goals for the most international goals in men's football history.

CloudNine Sports understands that, Ronaldo is yet to make a post celebrating about his latest milestone on Instagram, just as he did in January 2020 when he became the first individual to hit 200-million followers. 

The 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is on top of the highest followers chart, a long way clear of actor and wrestling legend Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in second on 246 million. 

Music megastar Ariana Grande has 244 million followers while Kylie Jenner is on 241 million.

American entertainer Selena Gomez has 238 million people following her account and behind her is Kim Kardashian on 229 million.

Then comes Ronaldo's great football rival Lionel Messi who is 81 million followers adrift of the Portuguese legend.

The Argentine and Barcelona star Lionel Messi has 219 million, while Beyonce is next on 186 million followers.

Ronaldo and Portugal are next in action on Saturday, when they travel to Munich to face Germany in their second Group F match, a group considered to be a "group of death".

The Defending Champions would also face World Champions France in their last Group F game next Wednesday in a fixture which could go a long way toward determining the group winner.
