Paul Pogba Follows Cristiano Ronaldo's Footsteps, As He Removes Heineken Bottle Due To Islamic Belief.

France midfielder Paul Pogba removes a bottle of Heineken beer bottle at post-match press conference following Euro 2020 win against Germany on Tuesday in Munich.

The act by Pogba '28' comes just a day after Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo discarded Coca-Coca bottles on the table in front of him as a press conference.

The beverage company is one of the sponsor of UEFA Euro 2020, but Pogba, who is a practicing muslim, didn't seem pleased with the bottle placed in front of him which happened to be a non-alcoholic version.

Pogba on numerous ocassion has expressed his religious belief, with the latest being during the holy month of Ramadan, when the midfielder went on to continue with a Europa League tie despite being on fast. He has also publicly stated that he doesn't consume alcohol in any form. 

The Machester United midfielder was awarded the Man of the Match in the Euro 2020 Group F opener, as France beat Germany 1-0.

German defender Mats Hummels scored an own goal by shanking the ball into his own net when he tried to claer it courtesy of Pogba's raking pass  which was fired back across the goal by Lucas Hernandez.

The World Champions joins Portugal in Group F, in what is called the group of death to secure all three points in their opening games.

Portugal had earlier cruised to a 3-0 victory against Hungary, with Cristiano scoring two late goals.

The 36-year-old Juventus star was also named the Man Of The Match after his records-breaking sensational performance.

 

On Monday, Portugal captain Ronaldo removed two bottles of Coca-Cola at a pre-match news conference and said "agua" in Portuguese, appearing to urge people to drink that instead.

According to reports, the move by five-time Ballon d'Or winner saw Coca Cola took a major hit in its stock value worth at least $4 billion.

As per The Daily Star, the prices of the beverage company dropped by 1.6 per cent and the value went down from USD 242 billion to USD 238 billion. 

Ronaldo, who also appears to be one of the most fittest athlete, is not a fan of the carbonated soft drinks and also hates it when his son consumes fizzy drinks. 

He endorsed people to consume water instead, as the video of the incident went viral on social media in no minutes.
