OFFICIAL: Everton Confirms The Appointment Of Rafael Benitez As New Club Manager.

 Everton has announced the appointment of Rafael Benitez as new manager of the club.

The Spaniard finally signs a three-year contract with the Toffees, which will keep him at the Goodison Park until June 2024 after two weeks negotiations. 

He is set to commence work with the squad when they return for pre-season training from 5 July.

The appointment of Benitez comes after former boss Carlo Ancelotti shockingly departed the club in May to join Real Madrid.

Several candidate like former Wolves boss Nuno Espírito Santo was also in contention for the job, but the Everton board has decided to settle with Benitez

Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright said via the club's website: 

“Rafa Benitez is joining Everton Football Club at an exciting time. On behalf of the Board of Directors I wish him well in achieving success for our football club - success our supporters long for and deserve.”

Rafael Benitez also expressed his delight on his new job: 

“I am delighted to be joining Everton. Throughout this process I have been greatly impressed by the ambition shown by the senior representatives at the Club and their desire to bring success to this historic Club.

“I believe this is a Club that is going places. I’m determined to play a big part in helping this great Club achieve its ambitions.”

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea boss has been without a club since his departure from Dalian Professional (Chinese Super League) last January.

He’s been approached by Italian clubs but Premier League job was his priority.

Benitez has an impressive track record with the clubs he has managed throughout his career, securing seven major honours including La Liga titles, the Coppa Italia, the FA Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League during managerial spells in Spain, England and Italy.
