Man United Hasn't Offered A New Contract Yet... Says Paul Pogba

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba breaks silence on his future with the club.

Pogba is set to enter the final year of his contract which would expire in June 2022, and the French man would be able to start negotiating with teams outside the Premier League from January for a possible free transfer.

His future at Old Trafford, has been the subject of speculation for the past few transfer windows, which made United triggered a one-year extension clause in Pogba's contract in January 2020, that was six months before his initial five-year contract was to expire.

The Red Devils have not yet been able to tie their star midfielder down for a longer period, with reports claiming on Thursday that United have opened discussions with Paul Pogba's representatives over a new contract.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has fuelled speculation over his future at Old Trafford on numerous occasions. Speaking at the end of last year, he said the midfielder was unhappy at the club and needed to change teams.

Speaking in a press conference on Thursday ahead of France's Euro 2020 opener against Germany, Pogba told RMC Sport, that there has been "no concrete proposal" from United yet.

"I have one year left on my contract, everyone knows that," said the 28-year-old.

"There have been no concrete proposals for extensions. I'm still in Manchester.

"We finished the season with the Europa League and after that we had our holidays. I didn't have the chance to speak with the manager and coach.

"The only tought I have about my future is the Euros. it's about focusing on the competition because I don't want to hear people say 'ah, he is not focused on the Euros because he's thinking about his club, his future'.

"All things related to the club, when you have a competition like this, I try to avoid them. That's why I have an agent and he is the one that takes care of all this".

The France World Cup winner, who re-joined the Man United from Juventus for £89m in 2016, has enjoyed a decent form in the just concluded season, helping Solkjaer's team to a second place finish in the league 

He has scored 38 goals and created 42 assists in 206 appearances across all competition.
