Liverpool Make Enquires Over the Availability Of PSG Star Kylian Mbappe.
Liverpool have reportedly made an audacious enquiry from Paris Saint-Germain over the availability of Kylian Mbappe.
Liverpool have put Mbappe on their transfer list this summer, and while they may not be in the strongest position to take the former Monaco man away from Ligue 1, they have at least shown an interest.
Jurgen Klopp's side, would need to offload some players before they buy this summer.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are names like to be used to make funds available for any potential deal.
According to Spanish publication Marca , The Reds have approached PSG about the availability of the 22-year-old.
Mbappe would be out of contract with the French side next summer, and he is yet to agree to a new contract extension, which makes a speculated move more likely.
Reports earlier this week claimed that Mbappe has ‘asked to leave’ the French giants, or stand loosing their star asset on a free transfer next year.
The fact remains though that PSG are not ready to allow Mbappe leave for free in a year’s time, and with rules giving the striker the chance to talk to propective suitors in January 2022. Any offer would have to be astronomical – close to £200million.
Mbappe has refused to rule out a move from the French capital, despite his younger brother penning a youth contract on Friday.
“I need to take the right decision, which is hard, and give myself the best opportunity to decide well,” He said.
“I am somewhere where I’m happy, I feel good. But is it the best place for me? I don’t yet have an answer.”
PSG chief executive Nasser Al-Khelaifi also issued a statement earlier this month stating that the World Cup winner is going nowhere.
"I will be clear, Kylian will be staying in Paris,” Al-Khelaifi told French outlet L’Equipe. “We are never going to sell him, and he will never leave for free.
“I never give details to the press about ongoing negotiations. All I can say is that it is coming along nicely.
“I hope that we will find a common ground. It is Paris, Kylian’s country and he has a mission: not just to be a football player, but to promote the French league, his country and the capital city.”
Real Madrid are the other team heavily linked with the France forward, but the Spanish gaints pulled back on a deal due to financial constraints.
While Mbappe focuses on matters with France at the ongoing Euro 2020 speculation about his future has calmed.
France prepare to face Switzerland in the round of 16 on Monday night in Bucharest, as Mbappe would be hoping to get his first goal of the tournament.
