AC Milan Set To Complete The Permanent Signing Of On-Loan Chelsea Defender Fikayo Tomori.

AC Milan are set to confirm the signing of on-loan defender Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea in the next 24 hours.

After series impressive performance, the Italian giants are keen to convert the young centre back's successful loan spell last season into a permanent deal.

Milan boss Stefano Pioli has made it clear that he wants Tomori to remain at the San Siro next season after helping them with a return to the Champions League.

According to reports, Milan had triggered the clause in Tomori's deal, and have agreed  a £25 million with £5 million in potential add-ons as part of that initial move.

The transfer, will bring to an end a 16-year association with Chelsea, who he joined the Blues a academy at under-8s level, before spending loan spells at Brighton, Hull and Derby.

Tomori fell out of favour under the Blues former-manager Frank Lampard, he was limited to just four appearances in all competitions last season, and decided to leave the West London club on loan in January.

The 23-year-old has been a regular ever since joining the Serie A sidd, making 22 appearances in total. This included starting both legs in the last-16 Europa League tie against Manchester United, which they narrowly lost 2-1 on aggregate.

He scored his first Serie A goal in a 3-0 win at Juventus earlier this month and was in the first team for their vital 2-0 win over Atalanta on the final day, a result they needed to qualify for next seasons Champions League.
