OFFICIAL: Sergio Aguero Unveiled As A Barcelona Player.

Sergio Kun Aguero has been unveiled as a Barcelona player.

The Catalan club earlier announced on Monday that they had reach a deal with Sergio Aguero from Manchester City on a free transfer.

He signed a two-year contract which will keep him at the Camp Nou until the summer of 2023, with a buyout clause set at 100 million euros (£86m/$122m).

According to Spanish media, the 32-year-old Argentine underwent a medical in the morning after been plagued by fitness issues throughout his final season with City and had to undergo knee surgery last year.

The forward was further presented in a Barca kit as he greeted the media on Monday evening.

Barcelona missed a true service of a striker like Aguero after letting Luis Suarez go wwithout a replacement last summer to join Atletico Madrid who eventually won the Spanish La Liga title for the first time since 2013/14 season. 

Ronald Koeman's men were only able to win the Copa del Rey this season, but crashed out in the round-of-16 of the Champions League and finished third in the La Liga.

Aguero said in a Press Conference shortly after his unveiling that it has been his dream since the age of 14 to join Barca and he is delighted to make the return to Spain.

"I am very happy, I will try to do my best for the club, help the team win important things. It is an immense joy.

"For me, Barca has always been the best team in the world and Leo [Messi] is also there.

"I told [president Joan] Laporta before that as a boy I said: ‚One day they will surely notice me. I’ve been interested since I was 14 years old. And here I am. I didn’t imagine it, but anyone runs to sign for Barca.

"When Barca contacted my agent about me, I didn’t even hesitate. I told my agent that I didn’t want him to talk to another team, only Barca".

He will officially become a Barcelona player on July 1 after his City contract expires.

Aguero's departure from the Etihad was announced at the end of March after Pep Guardiola informed City's all-time record goalscorer of the club's decision not to renew his contract, bringing to an end his 10-years stay with the club.

The City legend, scored a total of 260 goals in 390 appearances and won five Premier League titles, one FA Cup and six League Cups during his time in English football.

He suffered a heartbreak in his final outing for Guardiola's side as they lost 1-0 to Chelsea in their first-ever Champions League final appearance in Porto.

The 32-year-old’s arrival at Camp Nou could see him play alongside his fellow compatriot and friend Lionel Messi who is likely to exit the club this summer when his contract expires.

But Aguero hopes that the six-time Balon d’Or winner would remain at the club despite several transfer speculations.

"We hope to play together, of course. But we have been negotiating for a long time, these are decisions that Leo will make with the club. It will be a pleasure and pride to play together.

"I have known him for a long time and I think he will stay.

"I speak to Messi every day, in the last message he congratulated me. We have known each other for a long time and for me playing now and training with him every day is going to be much easier."

Aguero played for Atletico Madrid for five seasons before moving to Man City in 2011 for a £35m fee, helping Barcelona’s rivals to win the 2010 Europa League and the 2011 UEFA Super Cup.

Aguero was with Argentina’s under-20 World Cup winning squads in 2005 and 2007, as well as in the national team that won an Olympic gold medal in Beijing in 2008, alongside Messi.
