Neymar Extends Contract With PSG Until 2025.
Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has signed a contract extension with the club, which will keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2025.
The contract extension for Neymar has now ended several transfer speculation back to his former Barcelona.
According to reports, Neymar's new terms, will see him earn €30m-a-season after tax, every season in the French capital, which works at (€2.5m per month €625,000per week, €89.2k per day, €3.7k per hour, €62 per minute).
Neymar expressed his delight on Saturday via the clubs website after committing his future to PSG;
“I am very happy, very happy to be extending my contract with Paris until 2025."... Said the 29-year-old.
“The truth is that I am very happy to be staying here for four more years, to be a part of the club’s project, to try and win titles, to try and achieve our biggest dream which is the Champions League.
“I have changed a lot. I have learned a lot.
“Things have happened that should not have happened. We had fights, a few sad times, but overall the evolution has been very positive.
“I am happy, I’m proud to be part of the history of Paris Saint-Germain. I think I’ve improved as a person, as a human being, and as a player too.
“So, I’m very happy to be extending my contract, to be part of the history of Paris and I hope to put many more trophies on the shelf for Paris Saint-Germain.
“Of course, my goal when I came to Paris Saint-Germain was to help get Paris Saint-Germain to the top, among the very best, and we are getting close.
“We are gaining more and more experience to help us negotiate these types of games, to know how to play in the Champions League.
“And Paris is on the right track, we are getting closer and closer to the taste of winning the Champions League. I’m sure we can do it.”
Neymar joined the Ligue 1 champions in August 2017 from Spanish gaints Barcelona on a 5-year deal at a world record fee of €222m.
The Brazilian international has scored 85 goals and created 51 assists in his 112 appearance for PSG, winning nine trophies, including three consecutive Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, two Coupe de la Ligue,and two Trophée des Champions.
He also led the Parisians to the their first-ever Champions League final in 2020, only to be defeated by Bayern Munich 1-0 in the showpiece match.
PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi also said;
“I am proud that Neymar Jr has reaffirmed his long-term commitment to the PSG family through to 2025, and will continue to delight fans,”
“The core of our ambitious project to grow PSG is the heart, talent, and dedication of our players.”
PSG reached the Champions League last four for the second consecutive year this season but were knocked out in the semi-finals by Premier League side Manchester city 4-1 on aggregate without Neymar scoring a goal.
The club’s dominance in the domestic ligue 1 this season has been challenged, they are currently second in the standings, one point behind leaders Lille with a game in hand away Rennes on Sunday, and two games left to complete the season.
