Harry Kane Has Requested To Exit Tottenham At The End Of The Season.

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has informed the club that he wants to leave the club in the summer. 

The English striker has expressed his frustration of being unable to achieve his ambition of winning major trophies with the North London club, following last month League Cup defeat to Man City in the final.

According to reports, the England skipper is unhappy at Tottenham’s lack of progress this season and no longer believes in the club vision of winning a trophy.

Kane who joined Spurs from the youth academy, is now willing to leave after regularly spoken about his desire to win trophies, but has failed to land one with Tottenham, who are without major silverware since their League Cup victory against Chelsea in 2008.

The Tottenham board have refused to be drawn into debating Kane’s future in public as they focus on their final Premier League games, with Europa League qualification in their sights as they sit sixth in the Premier League under caretaker manager Ryan Mason.

“We won’t be commenting – our focus is on finishing the season as strongly as possible. That’s what everyone should be focused on,” a club spokesman said.

Kane had wanted to leave Spurs last summer only to stay and fight for another season. He hoped there was an acceptance from Levy that if he remained, the chairman would consider selling him this time, although that arrangement could well be disputed by Levy.

The Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, is currently seeking a permanent managerial replacement for José Mourinho whom he sacked last month due to the Super League controversy.

New Premier League champions Manchester City, Manchester United and Champions League finalists Chelsea have all emerged as likely suitors for Kane, who has scored has enjoyed an excellent season on a personal level. 

He is the Premier League’s joint top scorer with 22 goals and the leading assist maker with 13, and 32 goals in all competitions this season. 

Paris Saint-Germain, managed by Kane’s former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, and Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been linked with the striker.

Though the 27-year-old would prefer to stay in the Premier League next season, although he would be open to consider a switch to Spain.

Kane currently has three years to run on the six-year contract that he signed in 2018, meaning that Levy would feel empowered to demand an astronomical fee for him if he decides to leave.

He has scored 220 goals in 334 total appearances for Tottenham, establishing himself as one of the world’s best forwards, since joining the club's first team in April 2014.

Kane have gone on to lost the 2019 Champions League all-English final to Liverpool, and been beaten in two League Cup finals (2014-15, 2020-21) during his 12-years stay with Tottenham.
