Atletico Madrid Celebrates Their first LaLiga Title Since 2014 In Style.

Atletico Madrid celebrate the club's first LaLiga title since 2014 after coming from behind on the final day fixtures to win 2-1 away at Real Valladolid.

Diego Simeone's men trailed to Valladolid in just 18 minutes into the game through Oscar Plano's strike, but Atletico turned the match around in the second half through an Angel Correa goal in the 57th, and Suarez's coolly taken effort in the 67th minutes respectively.

Atleti's party began earlier at the Jose Zorrilla stadium, having got the much crucial victory to clinch their 11th title in history, a tally bettered by only Real (34) and Barcelona (26).

City rivals and defending Champions Real Madrid had scored twice late on to beat Europa League finalists Villarreal 2-1, but their win was futile, as needed Atletico to drop points in their game to stand a chance to clinch their 35th title.

An emotional Luis Suarez was spotted in tears and overwhelmed by his emotions at full-time, as his winning goal helped them edge Real Madrid to the La Liga title in a dramatic fashion

The Uruguay international proved exactly why Barcelona must regret selling him, as he opens up about his troubled exit from Barcelona last summer, saying that he was "underestimated."

He FaceTimed his family and loved ones while sat on the pitch.

"I am delighted the way Atletico have appreciated me and given me the chance to keep showing I can perform on this stage. I thank them for trusting in me. A lot of people have suffered with me, my wife, my children.

"I have been playing football for many years and this is the year my family and I have suffered the most. It is an amazing feeling to have performed on the final day of the season."

The 34-year-old striker departed Barcelona last September after new boss Ronald Koeman told him he wasn't part from his plans at the Camp Nou.

Suarez who was now rendered clubless, had to lower his salary to join Atletico Madrid in order to prove that he is not yet finished or neither too old.

He went on to score an impressive 21 vital goals in 32 La Liga appearances for the new Champions this season.

"The situation I experienced last summer was difficult, the way I was underestimated." Suarez told Movistar about his trouble exit from the Nou Camp.

"Atletico Madrid opened up their doors to me to keep on showing the player I am."

Atletico boss Diego Simeone also celebrateec winning his second LaLiga title for the club since winning his first in 2014.

The 51-year-old Argentine manager, insisted that their recent league triumph was "tough physically" in a "really tight season."

"We're knackered. It's been a really tight season with a lot of games... He said

"It's been tough physically, but in the end, we've got this crucial win and we've managed to win the title.

"The togetherness we have has been crucial to achieving this."

"I'd like to thank the fans. They haven't been able to be in the stands but we've felt their support in a really tough year."

The supporters who were unable to watch the game due to coronavirus restrictions but, dozens of Atleti fans that had travelled from Madrid to Valladolid ahead of the party.

They wouldn't have cared, as they celebrated knowing that they were the new Spanish Champions, a goalkeeper Jan Oblak had to go join the fans celebrating in the streets.

The 28th-year-old Slovenian had just won the Ricardo Zamora Trophy for a joint-record fifth time (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021), and the only non-Spanish keeper to win the award since joining the side from Benfica in July 2014.
