David De Gea Set To Exit Man United, As Dean Henderson To Take Over As First Choice Goalkeeper

David de Gea is reportedly set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, as Dean Henderson officially becomes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first choice goal-keeper.

The Spanish shot-stopper is one of the highest earners in the Premier League, and still has two years left to run on his current deal with a salary of £350,000 per week, the highest in the United’s squad.

According to the Mirror, the clubs hierarchy, wants to get rid of David de Gea to reduce their wage bill, and will give him huge payoff to cut his contract and leave the club early, as they are also paying £70,000 a week to Sergio Romero, and Lee Grant and Joel Pereira who will also be on their way out.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper, has struggled for consistency since the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, but could soon be ending his ten years stay at Old Trafford with over 400 games, which saw him win a mind-blowing four Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year awards, that's one more than Cristiano Ronaldo, and two ahead of Wayne Rooney.

De Gea's position at the Theatre of Dreams, is now been threatened by academy prospect Dean Henderson who returned from loan following a wonderful spell at Sheffield United last summer.

Henderson '24', has conceded just four goals in the six games De Gea has missed through his paternity leave.

United could still play up to 14 games this season, provided they reach the Europa League final in Gdansk, and Solskjaer insists both goalkeepers will get their fair share of playing time.

"We've got nine league games, Europa League," Solskjaer told MUTV. "With the two options I've got it's a difficult one to leave one out because both of them have done well enough to play."

CloudNine Sports understands that David de Gea, has been linked with several clubs in recent months, with Paris Saint-Germain emerging as a top contender for his signature.

De Gea has won one Premier League title, one FA Cup, one League Cup, three Community Shields and one Europa League title with the Red Devils, since joining the club under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson from Atletico Madrid in June 2011.
