BREAKING: Jose Mourinho SACKED As Tottenham Hotspur Manager.

Tottenham Hotspur have SACKED Jose Mourinho as manger of the club.

Mourinho was only appointed as Spurs manager in November 2019 replacing former manager Mauricio Pochettino and was offered a three years contract, which is to run until the 2022/23 football season.

He has been sacked alongside his coaching staff Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra on Monday morning with the club yet to disclose a reason for the decision.

Spurs Chairman, Daniel Levy speaking via the club's website said: 

"Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a Club. 

"Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic. On a personal level, I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged. 

"He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution."

In his first season in charge, he took Spurs from 14th in the Premier League to a sixth place finish and securing Europa League qualification but were knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage by RB Leipzig.

The club crashed out of this season's Europa League at the last-16 stage following a disappointing defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

Spurs are currently seventh in the table with 50 points from 32 games, five points off clinching a Champions League qualification for next season.

They recently played a 2-2 draw away to Everton last Friday, and would host Southampton in their next Premier League fixture on Wednesday. 

The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Mourinho was on the verge of winning his first trophy for Spurs when they face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final this Sunday.

Tottenham is the only Club Mourinho has managed for the first time in two decades without winning a trophy - although he was close but never given the opportunity. 

Former player and current Spurs youth coach Ryan Mason and Chris Powell are set to take over first team training until the end of the season in June.

The Tottenham's board have begin the search for a new boss who would replace Mournho at the hot-seat next season.

RB Leipzig Coach Julian Nagelsmann is one of the favourites, as they have been monitoring the German for some time now believing he’s one of the most talented young coaches in football.
