Man City's star Sergio Aguero Will Leave At The End Of The Season, The Club Confirms!
Sergio Kun Aguero will depart the Etihad stadium at the end of the Season, Manchester City confirmed on Monday night.
The Argentine international who joined the blue side of Manchester in 2011 from Spanish club side Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of £35m, has been consistently out of Pep Guardiola's squad this season due to re-occurring injuries in recent times, making just 14 appearances, and scoring only 3 goals.
His last start for the club was at the Craven Cottage against Fulham in the Premier League where he scored the last goal to give City a 3-0 win.
CloudNine Sports had earlier reported this month, that the 33-year-old contract with Man City is set to expire this summer, which will then make him a free agent with Chelsea, Barcelona and PSG all showing interest in his signature.
"Sergio's contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overlooked... said the club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
"His memories will remain with everyone who loves the club and even those who simply love football.
‘This is not the moment for final farewells. There is still a lot to be achieved for the rest of the season with Aguero."
The club's chairman confirmed also added that a statue of Sergio Aguero will be made to appreciate his achievements at the club, alongside that of other legends Vincent Kompany and David Silva, which are currently being constructed.

Aguero has been a key part of the rise of Man City in the last decade, and he is close to possibly winning the quadruple with Guardiola's team this season before he departs, he has so far won four Premier League titles, one fA Cup, five league cups and three Community Shields with the Cityzens.
He has scored a total of 257 goals in 384 appearances across all competitions, as the club prepares to bid him an emotional farewell.
Sergio Aguero took to his social media following the confirmation from the club to pen an open letter to fans, his team mates and members of the club;
"When a cycle comes to an end, many sensations arise.
"A huge sense of satisfaction and pride remains in me for having played with Manchester City for a whole ten seasons - unusual for a professional player this day and age"
"Ten seasons with major achievements, throughout which I was able to become the top historic goalscorer and forging an indestructible bond with all those who love this club - people who will always be in my heart"
"I was to join during the reconstruction era of 2011, and with the guidance of the owners and the contributions of many players, we earned a place among the greatest of the world.
"The task to maintain this well-deserved privileged position will remain on others. As for myself, I will continue to give it my utmost for the rest of the season to win more titles and bring more joy to the fans. Then, a new stage with new challenges will begin, and I am fully ready to face them with the same passion and professionalism that I have always dedicated to continue competing at the highest level."
