Chelsea Emerging Top Contenders Of Signing Man City's Star Sergio Kun Aguero
Manchester City's forward Sergio Aguero is reportedly opened to joining another Premier League side this summer, with Chelsea emerging top contenders in signing the Argentine star.
Agüero who will be turning 33-year-old this June, would be out of contract with the Cityzens at the end of the season, and he apparently wants to remain in the Premier League, with or without Man City.
Chelsea are currently in search for a new centre-forward this summer and have been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland after summer signing Timo Werner failed to adapt quickly in the league.
However, the Blues are eyeing Agüero as an alternative if they fail to secure their top target Haaland.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City haven’t held talks with Agüero regarding a contract extension, with manager Pep Guardiola revealing that the club will have no discussions with his agent until the end of the season.
Other clubs, like Barcelona and PSG are closely monitoring the situation at the Etihad, and the former have made contact with Agüero personally over a possible transfer.
Chelsea’s interest in Agüero, has been long dated back since 2011 when they missed out on signing him before his move to the blue side of Manchester from Spanish club Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of £35million, and Kun has gone on to score over 250 goals and becoming City's record goalscorer within the time.
Meanwhile he has been consistently out of the City squad, and had only made just 14 appearances this season and scoring only 3 goals due to re-occurring injuries in recent times.
CloudNine Sports understands that this won't be the first time that Chelsea would be signing a world class player who is over 30 years of age, as they signed a certain Thiago Silva from PSG last summer to help solve their defensive crisis.
