TRAGEDY As Great Football Legend "Diego Maradona" Dies At 60.

The world of football has been thrown into deep mourning following the death of a great football legend Diego Armando Maradona on Wednesday evening as announced by the Argentine Football  Association.

Diego Maradona died from a heart attack in his home at age 60, two weeks after being released from a Buenos Aires Hospital following a successful surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain.

Popularly known by the infamous "Hand of God" goal he scored against England in the quarter-final of the 1986 World Cup, and then went on to win the second World Cup title for his country as captain of the side. He also won the Golden Ball of that prestigious tournament.

"The Argentine Football Association, through its President Claudio Tapia, expresses its deepest sorrow for the death of our legend, Diego Armando Maradona," the Argentine Football Association said in statement.

"You will always be in our hearts."

The association also posted a picture of Maradona kissing the World Cup trophy, adding: “Goodbye, Diego. You will #Eternal in every heart of the soccer planet.”

Maradona won 9 club titles, including leading Napoli to its 1st league title in 1986-87, a club he played for between 1984 and 1991, making 188 appearances.
