OFFICIAL: Man United Have Completed The Signing Of Edinson Cavani On A Free Transfer.
The 33-year-old Uruguayan striker who left PSG at the end of June, has signed a one-year contract with the Red Devils, with an option to extend for a further year.
He becomes the second signing to join United on the transfer deadline day, after left-back Alex Telles joined earlier.
Cavani who has won the Golden Boot in both the Ligue 1 and Serie A, has scored 341 goals at club level since moving to Europe (Palermo) in 2007, including 35 goals in the UEFA Champions League.
He joined the French gaints PSG in June 2013, and made 301 appearances across all competitions, scoring 200 goals which makes him the club's all-time highest goalscorer.

Edinson Cavani expressed his delight of joining the Red Devils:

"I’ve worked really hard during the time off and I feel eager to compete and represent this incredible club.
“I have played in front of some of the most passionate supporters in football during my career and I know that it will be the same in Manchester.
"I cannot wait to experience the Old Trafford atmosphere, when it is safe for the fans to return.
“I look forward to continuing to write my little story inside the book of football and I know that’s why my focus has to remain the same as always - work, work, work.
"I have had a conversation with the manager and this has increased my desire and passion to wear this beautiful shirt.”
Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer added:
“Edinson is an experienced ultimate professional who always gives everything for his team. His goalscoring record for club and country is fantastic and we are delighted to sign a player of his calibre.
“He’ll bring energy, power, leadership and a great mentality to the squad but, most importantly, he’ll bring goals.

Cavani could make his United debut against Newcastle United in the Premier League on 17 October, just after the international break, and would also play against his former team PSG in the Champions League group stage match on 20 October.
Internationally, Cavani has made 116 caps for his country, and scored 50 goals. He was part of the team that won the Copa America in 2011.
