Gareth Bale Set To Arrive London In the Coming Days Ahead Of A Season-Long Loan Move To Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid on a season-long loan.

The dynamic Welshman arrived at the Real Madrid training ground this morning and was understood to be training on his own, as he awaits the final outcome of a potential move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

He is set to fly to North London on Friday to complete a medical and join his former team Tottenham Hotspur on a one-year loan as revealed by his agent.

According to the Athletic, Tottenham are potentially open to paying around half of his £600,000-a-week wages to get a loan deal over the line, with Real Madrid also willing to accept a cut in the payment his salary.

The 31-year-old is keen to make a remarkable return to the club he left as a star player for a then-world-record fee of £85 million in 2013.

Bale was on the verge of making a record breaking move to China last summer, but the deal was halted at the final stages by the Spanish club and since then has fallen out of favour from Zinedine Zidane squad.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho has approved the deal, with no other players expected to go in the other direction, after Dele Alli was initially linked with a Bernabeu move amid the Bale rumours, but will not be included in the deal.

Bale transfer to Tottenham will mean that the former Real Madrid and Manchester United manager Mourinho will finally get to have the player he had tried to sign seasons ago during his managerial time at Spain. 

When asked on the rumours about Bale's transfer, Mourinho said: 

"I tried to sign Gareth Bale for Real Madrid which was not possible to do during my time there; then he arrived when I left the club. 

"There is no secret on that. Even Gareth knows that. But I'm not going to speak about him anymore because he is a Real player".

Tottenham began their Premier League season with a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to well coordinated Everton side last weekend, which prompted Mourinho to hold serious discussions with the chairman Daniel Levy over the signing of new players.

Spurs is also expected to complete the signing of Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid in the coming days.

The 23-year-old full-back spent the previous season on loan at Sevilla, as he helped the team win the Europa League title.

He is set to have a medical at Spurs’ training ground after a fee of around £27million was agreed with Real.
