Willian Ignores Chelsea New Contract Offer, And He's Set To Join Arsenal.

Willian is set to leave Chelsea after agreeing to a three-year contract with Arsenal worth around £100,000 per- week.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk and Anzhi Makhachkala player has ignored Frank Lampard's pleas to stay, as the Blues manager was keen on retaining him at Stamford Bridge. 

Chelsea's hierarchy failed to reach an agreement with the Brazilian winger for months over a new contract negotiations, as they were not prepared to offer him the long-term deal he wanted. 

Sources claimed that Two years were on the table but the player wanted three.

The 31-year-old who turns 32 on Sunday will end his seven-year stay at Chelsea, as he crosses to join London rivals Arsenal who have stepped in to seal his services on free transfer.

According to ESPN, the move is expected to be officially announced later this month.

Kia Joorabchian who is Willian's agent, recently claimed that his client had five other clubs interested in his signature, including two Premier League teams, with Everton said to be one of them.

Willian has made 47 appearances this season, scoring 11 goals and 9 assists for the Blues, though he missed the FA Cup final last weekend through an Achilles injury, as he watched his new team to be Arsenal lift the trophy for a record 14th time.

CloudNine Sports understands that, the victory for Arsenal means they can at least offer Europa League football next season, a competition which will not be new to Willian having won the trophy with Chelsea last season, following a 4-1 win over Arsenal at the Olympic Stadium in Baku.

Willian has scored a total of 63 goals in 339 appearances since joining Chelsea in August 2013, winning two league titles, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Europa League.
