Inter Milan Completes The Permanent Signing Of Alexis Sanchez From Man United.

Alexis Sanchez has joined Inter Milan from Manchester United on a three-year contract, which will keep him at the San Siro until June 2023.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal forward initially joined the Serie A club on a one-season loan in August 2019, where he linked up with former Man United teammate Romelu Lukaku, and they were later joined by Ashley Young.

Sanchez made 29 appearances for the San Siro side, scoring four goals and creating 10 assists, as he helped Inter to a second place finish in the league standings with 82 points, and one points behind champions Juventus.

The 31-year-old became the first Chilean to play a competitive game for the Red Devils after forcing a move from Arsenal in January 2018, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading in the opposite direction.

A statement released via the Manchester United website reads;

"Everyone at Manchester United wishes Alexis Sanchez all the best in his future career as he joins Inter Milan on a permanent transfer".

Alexis Sanchez in his two years stay, scored just five goals and nine assists in 45 appearances for the Reds.

Sanchez could yet have a quickfire reunion with the Reds this season, with United and Inter both still in competition for the Europa League, although the two clubs could only face each other if both teams make it through to the tournament’s final in Cologne.

CloudNine Sports understands that Inter Milan booked their spot in the Europa League quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Spanish side Getafe on Wednesday night, while United did the same by completing a 7-1 aggregate win over Austrian side LASK at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer's men take on FC Copenhagen in the quarter-finals while Inter will face either Bayer Leverkusen or Rangers.

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte, when asked about the permanent transfer of Alexis Sanchez for the Nerazzurri, he told Sky Italia;

"I think the Sanchez transfer is a very good move by the club," 

"Considering the conditions in which we managed to get Alexis, it was a really good transfer. 

"The club deserve credit because he came at the worst moment of his career. He arrived after two difficult years when he was really struggling at United and then got injured with us". 

"We took the time to get him back on track, so it is only right for Inter to enjoy it and reap the rewards of that effort."
