Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta Delighted Over FA Cup Victory.

Arsenal are crowned champions of the FA Cup for the 14th time in history, following a 2-1 victory over London rivals Chelsea on Saturday evening.

The game kicked off on a high at the empty Wembley Stadium, as it took Chelsea just 6 minutes to open scoring through Christian Pulisic who benefited from an assist by Olivier Giroud to make it 1-0 in favour of the Blues.

Arsenal's captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled things up for the Gunners in the 28th minute via a penalty after defender Cesar Azpilicueta brought him down.

Chelsea faced a number of obstacles in the defeat, as Cesar Azpilicueta left the game with an hamstring injury in the first half, and Christian Pulisic suffered an apparent hamstring injury, ending his day.

The second-half began quite intensed for both London sides, as they tried not to make silly mistakes leading to goal, but Aubameyang shined again by netting a brace, having converted a wonderful pass from Nicolas Pepe in the 68th minute, which ended the game 2-1 in favour of Mikel Arteta's men.

Things got more worse for Frank Lampard's team as Mateo Kovacic was sent off after picking up a second yellow card later in the second half, leaving Chelsea yo finindh the game with ten men.

Arsenal really needed to a win to salvage their awful season, which caused them to finish 8th in the league standings with  out of the European football spot in the league and only a win in the FA Cup final would give them a second chance to qualify for the Europa League next season.

The North London side has now won four FA Cup finals in the past seven years, and have won the competition more than any team in england, having surpassed Man United 12, Chelsea and Tottenham 8, Liverpool and Aston Villa 7. 

It was Mikel Arteta's first trophy as a manager just six months after his appointment as Arsenal manager in December 2019.

The 38-year-old Spaniard expressed his delight vis his official Twitter page saying;

"Thank you everyone for being so supportive.We knew that there were expectations and this trophy is for you.

"I knew the challenges I was facing the day I came here. The history and legacy of this football club is incredible. I am very proud of how we have changed a lot of things.

"There is still a long way to go of improving on many things,but I’m very proud of the fantastic players and the staff... He added

"Again, thank you so much for the support and belief."

And when asked if he felt it could be Aubameyang’s last game in a Gunners shirt, Arteta said: "No, I don’t have that feeling.

The 2020 Community Shield will be held on Saturday August 29 between Premier League champions Liverpool and FA Cup winners Arsenal at the Wembley stadium.
