Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson Wins Individual Awards, And David Silva Plays His Last Premier League Game, As Man City Trashes Norwich.
Manchester City ended the 2019/20 Premier League season on a high, following a thrilling 5-0 victory at home over relegated Norwich City on Sunday evening.
Midfielder Kevin de Bruyne and Goalkeeper Ederson Moraes bagged home individual awards and club legend David Silva played his final league game for the Citizens.
Gabriel Jesus opened scoring for City in the 11th minute, before Kevin de Bruyne sensational strike doubled the lead just before the end of the half time.
The second half began with City dominating play before Raheem Sterling scored the third goal in the 79th minute, followed by a well right-footed strike by substitue Riyad Mahrez to make it 4-0 in the 83rd minutes.
Kevin de Bruyne scored his brace and the final goal of the night after curling a shot past the helpless Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul in the 90th minute, as they cruised past the cannaries.
The match saw club legend David Silva become Man Of The Match as he played his 309th and last Premier League game for the club after an entire decade.
David Silva '34' scored 60 league goals, which is the fourth most goals for the club and also had the club record assist (93). He won 214 out of his 309 games and 4 Premier League titles since his move to the blue side of Manchester in June 2010 from Spanish club side Valencia.
Speaking after the game via the club's official Twitter handle, David Silva said
"I’ve enjoyed it and this was the last one in the Premier League but we have to focus on the Champions League... Says the Spaniard.
"I hope we can win the Champions League and it's a shame we can't play with the fans here, but the safety comes first.
"It was emotional and I love all of them. I'm going to miss all of them.
"To win so many titles and the way we’ve done it, of course I am very proud.
"I will miss everything, including the weather! I'm going to miss working every day with these amazing people. They have made my life much easier.
"I didn't expect to be this successful but because of the people here and how they treat my family, it made it easy.
Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne wins the playmaker of the season with 20 assists, while Brazilian international Ederson whoose clean sheet against Norwich won him the league's Golden Glove award with 16 clean-sheets.
Man City's manager Pep Guardiola appeared to be a very happy man on the night, as he delights with his players who has made him proud.
"We did a good job, a good game with and without the ball"... Pep Guardiola said after the game
"It's good to finish the Premier League season here with second position, scoring lots of goals and to win the Premier League awards for Ederson and Kevin".
On Silva last game Pep said;
" It was the smallest standing ovation of all time but he will come back to receive it with the fans.
"They want to do it. See what the players have done on pitch to show gratitude and the honour he had for an incredible ten years at this Club"

Man City finished the season in second place with 81 points, 18 behind champions Liverpool, and 14 pionts above third place Manchester United.
