Chelsea Makes Bid For Barcelona Ter Stegen As Possible Replacement For Kepa.

Chelsea have reportedly make an offer for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a possible replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Blues manager Frank Lampard is on a serious hunt for a new shot-stopper, after losing faith in Kepa whom was replaced by reserved goalkeeper Willy Caballero in their final game of the season against Wolves.

According to Spanish news outlet Cadena Ser, Chelsea would have to face strong competition from Bayern Munich in landing one of the finest goalkeepers in the game to Stamford Bridge next season, as the German club have also tabled an offer for Ter Stegen and are desperate to bring him back his homeland as a long term replacement for Manuel Neuer.

Barcelona on the other hand are not willing to let the German goalkeeper leave the Camp Nou, as his contract renewal remains a priority for the club.

They are Keen on extending Ter Stergen's current contract with the club next week, which expires in June 2022, after which he is able to leave Barca on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old is yet to reach an agreement with the Catalan club about extending his contract, as he recently returned from vacation from Ibiza following the conclusion of the La Liga season, he replied “we’ll see” when he was asked about his future at the Camp Nou earlier this week.

Ter Stergen joined Barcelona from Borussia Mönchengladbach in May 2014, and has conceded a mere 213 goals and has 100 clean sheets in his 234 appearances across all competitions  for the club. 

Meanwhile, Chelsea are ready to test the waters in their search for a new number one.

The blues are believed to be ready to offload Kepa Arrizabalaga at any amount below the £71 million that had paid to Athletic Bilbao in August 2018, surpassing the £67m rivals Liverpool had paid for Alisson Becker just after a month to make Kepa him the most expensive goalkeeper in football in football history.

CloudNine Sports understands that, the Spaniard signed a huge seven year deal at Stamford Bridge, and he's failed to impress in his two seasons, with Chelsea also making preparations to loan him out this summer should they be unable to find a buyer.

Having qualified for Champions League football next season, Frank Lampard has already began to rebuild and strengthen his squad, spending around £90m with the arrival of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

They also await the potential arrival of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and and possibly agree a deal for Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.
