Man City Returns To The Premier League With A Comfortable Victory Over Arsenal.

Manchester City restart their Premier League campaign with a comfortable 3-0 victory at home to Arsenal on Wednesday.

The Premier League returned to action after a 100 days coronavirus lockdown break, with the first match Aston Villa Vs Sheffield United ending all squared (0-0) at the Villa Park.

While the second fixture, saw Man City's manager Pep Guardiola come against his former assistant and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta at the empty Etihad staduim.

The match ended in a 3-0 scoreline, with Kevin De Bruyne making a superb pass which hit David Luiz to get to Raheem Sterling who opening scoring for the citizens at the stroke of half-time.

David Luiz brings down Riyad Mahrez in the area few minutes into the second-half, and the Arsenal centre-back was sent off, which led to De Bryune extending the lead, having converted from the spot in the 51 minutes.

Phil Foden added a 3rd goal in the 90+2 minutes to make it 3-0 for City at full-time.

The victory makes it a six straight wins for City against Arsenal across all competitions.

With 9 more matches to go to end the season, Man City remains second on the table with 60 points and 22 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal hopes for qualifying for European competition have further been jeopardized after suffering their 7th lost of the season, they sit 9th in the league standings with 40 points, and 4 points behind making it to a top-six position.
