Man City Boss Pep Guardiola Has Shown Concern On The Shape Of His Team Ahead Of The Resumption Of The Premier League.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that his team ‘are not ready’ to restart their Premier League season against Arsenal on Wednesday 17th June.
Pep Guardiola is set to come on against his former assistant manager Mikel Arteta at the Etihad stadium in a game which was supposed to have been played on March 11, but became the first Premier League match to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Premier League returns after a three-month coronavirus lockdown break and players/squad fitness is a big concern for coaches.
Clubs have only been back in group training for three weeks, and Guardiola is one manager that has shown serious concern about how matches will be rushed and played within a space of three days.
Manchester City must play a demanding 10 league matches before the end of July, and having won the League Cup in January, they look likely on course on winning the treble.
Guardiola's men will travel to the St.James Park on June 28 for the FA Cup quarter-fnal fixture against Newcastle United. They are also still in the Champions League, meaning squad rotation is necessary.

According to the Daily Mail, Pep Gauardiola said;
"We are set to play one match. Three or four days after that, we are not ready, not us alone, all the teams. That is why we must rotate.
"You can play a match after three weeks on holiday but we had two weeks on the sofa doing nothing. Which is why the players are not fit.
"But we have to finish the season. We have to limit the economic effects to the clubs.
"How fit we are right now, I think other teams as well don’t know. If you asked how the team is, I just don’t know.
"Tomorrow we will see the level. From there, we are going to suggest what we can do better.
"What we are worried about over the three weeks [since returning to group training] is the lack of preparation, not like in Germany or Spain where they had five or six weeks to prepare.
"All Premier League teams have three. We know it is not enough but it is what it is".
