The Spanish La Liga Have Been Granted Permission By The Prime Minister, To Return To Action On June 8.
The Spanish La Liga have been given the green light to resume actions behind closed doors from 8 June by the Spain's prime minister Pedro Sanchez.
All football activities have been suspended in the country since March 12 due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
The La Liga officials have been exploring a way to conclude the present season amids the virus, with the league's president Javier Tebas stating that he was hoping that the Spain's top flight would restart on Friday 12 June.
The Prime Minister Sanchez said in an address to the nation on Saturday:
"Spain has done what it should and now new horizons are opening for everyone.
"The time has come to resume many daily activities. From June 8, La Liga will return to football.
"The Spanish football has a huge following but it will not be the only recreational activity that will return."
Games will likely be played without the fans in the staduim, so as to minimise the risk and curtail the spread of the disease.
According to sources, Players in the La Liga were only able to return to individual training early this month after being tested for the virus.
With 11 games left to complete the season, reigning champions Barcelona currently sit top of La Liga table with 58 points, and have a two-points lead over rivals Real Madrid who has 56 points.
Sevilla stay in third with 47 points, while Real Sociedad have the last Champions League qualification spot in fourth with 46 points.
At the other end, bottom side Espanyol are six points from safety while Leganes and Mallorca are battling for a way out of the relegation zone.
