Tragic News, As Man City Manager Pep Guardiola Loses Mum After Battling Coronavirus.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola's 82-year-old mother, Dolors Sala Carrio, has died in Barcelona after contracting the coronavirus.
Two weeks after Pep Guardiola, donated a huge sum to Angel Soler Daniel Foundation in Barcelona, and Medical college last month, which goes a long way towards helping the battle against COVID-19, his mum who have being diagnosed with the virus, passes away earlier today.
The 49-year-old Guardiola is currently back at his hometown in Barcelona following the outbreak, where he has been urging football fans to stay at home to reduce the spread of the deadly virus.
'We miss football,' he said. 'We miss the life that we had a few days ago but now is the time to listen, to follow our scientists, doctors and nurses.
'You are my football family and we are going to do everything possible to make you feel better. We'll come back from this stronger, better, kinder... and a little bit fatter. Stay inside, stay safe.'
Manchester City made the official announcement on the club Twitter handle;
"The Manchester City family are devastated to report the death today of Pep’s mother Dolors Sala Carrió in Manresa, Barcelona after contracting Corona Virus. She was 82-years-old ."
"Everyone associated with the club sends their most heartfelt sympathy at this most distressing time to Pep, his family and all their friends."
The official Premier League also replied via a tweet sending their condolence;
"The thoughts and condolences of all of us at the Premier League are with Pep, his family and his friends at this difficult time."
Dolors had watched Pep enjoy a hugely successful playing career, mostly with Barcelona, where he won numerous trophies with the Catalona side, she also watched her son become a great football manager, winning trophies with teams he has managed, such as; Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Man City.
