Spurs Midfielder, Eric Dier Has Been Charged with Misconduct, Following His Actions Of Confronting A Fan After His Team Elimination From The FA Cup.
Tottenham Hotspur Midfielder, Eric Dier has been charged by the English FA for his dramatic actions after jumping into crowd to confront a fan following his teams elimination at home from the fifth round the FA Cup by Norwich City.
An unbelievable scenes ensued immediately after the game on March 4th, as Eric Dier who played as a centre-back for Spurs on the day, jumped over the advertising board and made his way into the stands of his own supporters to react to a fan whom allergedly disrespected and aimed abuses towards his brother.
The match ended at 1-1 after 30 minutes extra-time, and went straight into penalty shoot-outs which ended (2-3) in favour of Daniel Farke's men who progressed to the quater-finals of the competition for the first time in 28 years.
After necessary review from the FA, the midfielder has been charged for misconduct, and could face a lengthy ban following his actions.
“Eric Dier has been charged with misconduct for a breach of FA Rule E3. It is alleged that the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s actions at the conclusion of the Emirates FA Cup fixture against Norwich City FC on Wednesday March 4 2020 were improper and/or threatening"... statement from the FA read.
The 26-year-old have been a deadline of May 8 to respond to the charges.
