As A Youngster, I was A Fan Of Arsenal... Man United Star Paul Pogba
Manchester United star Paul Pogba has disclosed that he was an Arsenal Fan as a youngster, as he was been inspired by the former French legend Thierry Henry who is his favorite player and idol.
According to sources, Pogba later switched from being a Gunners supporter to become a Manchester United supporter, as he followed his older brother footsteps who had so much love for the Red devils.
The 27-year-old also revealed that his previous affection for the Premier League rivals, Arsenal, was because the north London side as at then featured some of the finest French football players, including the Gunners’ all-time leading record goalscorer, Henry who is regarded as the greatest striker of all-time by the Arsenal faithfuls.
The French midfielder Pogba, as a teenager played in English football, coming through the academy ranks at Old Trafford, before returning to the club in a world-record deal in 2016 after spending four seasons at Juventus
‘I am honest. So from the start, I was an Arsenal fan, clearly because of all the French players,’ Pogba told United’s official podcast.
‘Me and my brother were Arsenal fans but my other brother supported Manchester United.
‘I couldn’t say much so I used to love Henry alot and it’s because of him I loved Arsenal. Then I switched and went on to support with my other brother the United fan.’
CloudNine Sports had reported that the 2018 World Cup winner, Pogba was set to return to full training with the United squad, and was putting extra effort to regain fitness before the suspension of all football activities in England, due to Coronavirus outbreak.
Pogba has mostly been out of the squad this season, and has not played for the club since December 2019 after undergoing surgery to address a reoccurring foot injury that seem to have ruined his entire season.
He has only made just eight appearances across all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team this season.
