Chinese club Shandong Luneng Taishan, has announced that former Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini have been discharged from a Chinese hospital on tuesday, after suffering from the deadly coronavirus for three-weeks.
CloudNine Sports had reported earlier that Fellaini, became the first player in the Chinese Super League (CSL) to have contracted the COVID_19 virus, having just arrived at the club on March 22 for the preparation of the new league season.
The commencement of the new league season, was initially postponed and was set to begin early this month, but has now been postponed even more further by the league chiefs, which may explain why no-one else at the Chinese club has tested positive to the virus.

A brief statement from the club Shandong reads;
“Fellaini was assessed and was deemed to have recovered, and was discharged today,”
You may recall that the former Everyone player Fellaini, completed a transer to join United on the 2013 deadline day sumner transfer window, which saw him reunite with his former manager David Moyes at Old Trafford, before departing for the Chinese club Shandong Luneng in January 2019.
He has so far enjoyed his stay in the China, scoring 10 goals and 3 assist across all competition for his club in the just concluded season, helping his side to a fifth place finish in the league standings with 51 points.
