Tennis Star Roger Federer, and His Wife Mirka, Donates Huge Sum To The Families Suffering With Coronavirus In His Country.
Tennis star Roger Federer '38' and his wife Mirka, have donated one million Swiss francs ($1.02 million, 943,000 euros), to the families suffering with coronavirus in his country.
Acording to reports, there are more than 10,000 COVID_19 cases in Switzerland, which is a lot for a small country.
The Switzerland government, has imposed a ban on all private and public events and has closed all non-essential businesses until at least 19th April.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion joins several other sports personalities, to donate money to support those affected by the virus.
The world No.4 Federer, wrote on his official social media pages;
"These are challenging times for everyone and nobody should be left behind,"
"Mirka and I have personally decided to donate one million Swiss Francs for the most vunerable families in Switzerland."
"Our contribution is just a start. We hope that others might join in supporting .ore families in need."
"Together we can overcome this crisis! Stay healthy!"
The professional tennis tours are currently suspended until 7th June.
