Manchester United Will Pay All Their Matchday And Non-Matchday Workers Should The Premier League Games Be Cancelled Or Played Behind Closed Doors For The Remainder Of The Season.

Manchester United have confirmed that they will pay all their matchday and non-matchday workers for the remainder of this season even if the remaining Premier League games get cancelled or are played behind closed doors due to the Corovirus outbreak.

The United board have committed more than £1million to ensure that their 3,000+ casual staff get paid despite the rescheduled date of football fixtures.

According to a club staement by the executive vice-chairman "Ed Woodward" ;
"This goodwill gesture reflects the club's desire to reduce the financial uncertainty facing its casual workforce, and is in recognition of the crucial role they play in delivering services to supporters,"
"We rely on our outstanding staff to deliver an exceptional service and experience to fans at Old Trafford"
"We understand that these are unprecedented circumstances and want to give them security whatever may happen regarding our remaining fixtures this season."


Manchester United still have 5 guaranteed games across all competitions to be played at Old Trafford before the end of the season, but may have to host more if they advance to the next stage of the FA Cup and the Europa League.
