Good News!... As Arsenal Manager "Mikel Arteta" Recovers From Coronavirus
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has recovered from Coronavirus, as he says to be feeling “very well” and is now looking forward to getting back to work with the Arsenal team.
It was announced on March 10 that the Spaniard tested positive to COVID_19, therefore becoming the first football personality in the Premier league to be diagnosed with the virus.
The announcement led to the emergency suspension of the Premier League and other football activities in England.
Arteta has now completed his period of self-isolation, together with all Arsenal players and staff who were also asked to self isolate for 14-days, which is set to end on Tuesday.
Arsenal board have asked the players and staff to still remain at home instead of resuming training at the London Colney tomorrow.
The 37-year-old, speaking to a Spanish tv La Sexta says:
“I’m very well now, I feel that I have recovered.
“It took me three or four days to start feeling much better and with more energy, to leave the symptoms behind and now, the truth is that I feel very well.”
“Everything happened very fast when I was feeling so ill and I went to see the doctor but he wasn’t there.
“I got a call from the board of directors after training while I was in my car and they told me that the president of Olympiacos had tested positive and everyone that had been in contact was at risk.
“I went on to tell them that I wasn’t feeling well and that we had a situation because we had lots of players that had been in contact with the Olympiacos team.
"We had a game against Manchester City the next day and obviously we couldn’t put lots of people at risk without saying anything.
“I had the test finally done, so we had to communicate it to the Premier League that I had tested positive.
“Obviously all those that had been in contact with me had to go into quarantine, and consequently, games had to be suspended."
Arsenal were set to visit Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on March 11 for thier rescheduled outstanding fixture, but was cancelled following the news on Mikel Arteta diagnosis.
They currently occupy the ninth position in the league standings with 40 points and 8 points behind the fourth place team, as they still hope in clinching a champions league spot next season.
