CloudNine Sports understands that Manchester United beat the likes of Jose Mourinho's Spurs and Antonio Conte's Inter Milan to the signature of Ighalo who turned down a move to both clubs on transfer deadline day, just to join his boyhood club.
The move for the 30-year-old Nigerian forward, would see him living his dream, after he a tweet he made from 2016 which he says;
Ighalo has now become the first Nigerian to play for the Red Devil's, He scored a total number of 33 goals in 82 appearance during his playing days at Watford. He also won the Goldenboot as a top-scorer in the just concluded 2019 African Cup Of Nations held in Egypt. He emerged the top goals scorer with 5 goals, surpassing Liverpool's Sadio Manè and Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez who came second and third on the list respectively with 3 goals each.

United completed the signing of the Shanghai Shenhua forward on a loan until the end of the season, as United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Ighalo joining the club, as short term solution to help fix the United's forward crisis at the moment, with Marcus Rashford facing at least another couple of months on the sidelines with a stress fracture of his back.
Anthony Martial and youngster Mason Greenwood are the only current forward options available Solskjaer, but Ighalo will help come in and ease that burden.
United is reported to pay a third of Ighalo's £300,000 wages at the Chinese Super league side. He has agreed to the deal, but is still currently in China, due to the limits placed on travel after the Coronavirus outbreak, but the move will be completed within the next 24 hours.
