The 32-year-old Serbian emerging victorious after a thrilling 4 hours battle with Thiem on Sunday, captured his 8th Australian Open title, having won it in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019 and now 2020. Also making it his 17th career Grand Slam titles.

Djokovic has won all finals he has played at the Australian Open making him the King Of Melbourne.

Fifth-seed Dominic Thiem who is still looking forward to winning a first Grand Slam title says after the disappointing defeat to Djokovic;

"I would like to start with a huge congrats to Novak. Amazing achievement and to all your team. Unreal what you have been doing all these years. I'm proud and happy I can compete in these times and period of tennis. I fell short but I hope I can get revenge soon.
