Jurgen Klopp Extends His Contract As Liverpool Manager Until 2024.

Liverpool football club have announced that "Jurgen Klopp" has extended his contract as Manager, which will keep him at Anfield till 2024...

The 52-year-old German has brought immense success to Liverpool since he was appointed as manager in October 2015, after spending seven successful years in charge of German club side Borrusia Dortmund.

Klopp first campaign at Anfield, Liverpool reached the finals of both the League Cup and Europa League, the latter after a memorable run in the tournament, but narrowly lost on both occasions.

In the 2016-17 season, Klopp navigated the Reds back into the Champions League for the first time since 2014, with a top-four finish secured with a final day victory over Middlesbrough at Anfield.

Klopp managed Liverpool in the 2018/19 season to winning their sixth Champions League crown, after overturning an unbelievable first leg 3-0 away loss to Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the Semi-Final, to a 4-0 Second leg home victory in Anfield as they qualified to the final to defeat London club Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at the then newly  constructed Wanda Metropolitano staduim in Madrid.

Liverpool currently are at the top of the Premier League standings with 46 points, after an astounding 15 wins from their opening 16 matches, which they unfotunately just drew one of those matches in November, which ended 1-1 away to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Liverpool are also in a very good form and position to win the Premier League this season, as they sits 8 points clear above second place Leicester City and 14 points clear away from the defending champions Manchester City, whom they narrowly lost the league too last season with just one point.

The former Mainz 05 and Borrusia Dortmund boss, speaking on his contract extension at Liverpool through the club's website:

“For me personally this is a statement of intent, one which is built on my knowledge of what we as a partnership have achieved so far and what is still there for us to achieve.

“When I see the development of the club and the collaborative work that continues to take place, I feel my contribution can only grow.

"It is only with a total belief that the collaboration remains totally complementary on both sides that I am able to make this commitment to 2024.

“If I didn’t I would not be re-signing.

“This club is in such a good place, I couldn’t contemplate leaving.

“I must also highlight the role of our sporting director, Michael Edwards, in this journey so far. His input and collaboration has been just as important as anyone else’s in getting us into a position to compete for the game’s top titles.

“For anyone in football who aspires to compete in an environment where every element of the organisation is at its very best – from the support of the supporters to the vision of the owners – there can be no better place than this.”
