UEFA Appionts Italian Referee "Gianluca Rocchi" To Be In Charge Of The Europa League Final In Baku
The Union Of European Football Association (UEFA), have appointed the 45-year-old Italian referee Gianluca Rocchi to take charge of the Europa League final between two English and London club side Chelsea and Arsenal at the Olympic Stadium in Baku Azerbaijan on 29th May 2019.
Gianluca Rocchi who have overseen three English teams in the six matches he has officiated already this season in the Champions league, one of which includes the Manchester United Vs Barcelona Quarter-final first leg clash at Old Trafford. Juxtapose to the Europa League, where he was only at the helm of affairs in the 7th March round of 16 first leg game beween Zenith St Petersburg and Villarreal on this season.
Apart from the May 2017 Europa League final between English club side Manchester United and Dutch side Ajax at the Friends Arena in Solna Sweden, Gianluca Rocchi was just the fourth official of the day. The match in Baku, would be his first European Final as the referee in charge.
