Liverpool performed one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the Champions League

Liverpool footbal club of England performed the greatest comebacks in the Semi-Final return leg fixture and are into their second successive Champions League final after overcoming Spanish gaint Barcelona  on an epic night at Anfield.

Almost nobody gave Liverpool a chance as star Men Salah and Firmino who actually have been a great impact in Jurgen Klopp's team this season were out of the thigh on injury, but the team, Cheered on relentlessly by their fans, the Reds produced an incredible all-action display to craw back and then ultimately overturn their 3-0 deficit from the Nou Camp with an unanswered four-goal margin in thrilling style.

It is the first time since 1986  that a team have recovered a three-goal first-leg deficit to win a semi-final in this competition.

Liverpool who have performed a famous Champions League fightbacks before, notably when they won this competition against Italian side Ac Milan for the fifth time in Istanbul in 2005, but this was arguably the greatest in their glittering history.

The Belgian forward, Divock Origi 24 and Dutch midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum 28, who had to replace the injured right back Andy Robertson at half-time, provided the goals and were heroes for Liverpool on the night.

They will go to win the trophy for the sixth time in Madrid on 1 June, where they will meet either Ajax or Tottenham in the final.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said: "I told the boys before the game it was impossible, but because it’s you boys, we have a chance. The whole game was too much," he said. "Winning is difficult but with a clean sheet, I don't know how they did it."

"It means so much to all of us. There are more important things in the world. But creating this emotional atmosphere together is so special. It's all about the players.

"The mix of potential and unbelievable heart is just a mix I never saw before. It shows what's possible in football. It's so nice."
